Oat Milk Coffee

Oat Milk Coffee

Nutrition Facts

Plant-based oat drinks are typically fortified with various vitamins and minerals, including B12, D, calcium, and iodine. Sugar content varies significantly among these drinks. Choose the no sugar option for a healthier choice.

Check brand labels and sustainability statements. For example Alpro No Sugar Facts1: The company says that Alpro Oat Original and Oat No Sugars drinks are made from 100% British oats, mostly sourced from farms within 80 miles of the mill. This means fewer food miles, more local farmer support, and a smaller environmental impact.

NHS UK researchers2 have found people who drink up to three cups of coffee a day could have a healthier heart. The results, published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that between half and three cups a day could be beneficial, showing links between moderate coffee drinking and a healthier heart.

Plant-Based Diets

Key Headlines from the British Dietetic Association

Good for The Planet: In the UK, it is estimated that well-planned, completely plant-based, or vegan, diets need just one third of the fertile land, fresh water and energy of the typical British ‘meat-and-dairy’ based diet.

Good for Health: Plant-based eating is recognised as an intervention to improve health outcomes. They could reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and some cancers and may help you manage your weight.

Nutrition: Plant-based diets rich in beans, nuts, seeds, fruit and vegetables, whole grains (such as oats, barley and quinoa) and minimally processed foods can provide all the nutrients needed for good health (with the exception of B12).
